OIL
While I believe in free markets, we need to recognize that the oil market is not a free market. There is an international oil cartel centered in the Middle East, which can and does manipulate oil supplies to maximize profits resulting from their sale of oil to the United States. They understand this nation’s reliance upon their oil and take advantage of that reliance. They wish to keep the patient alive, but hungry. The US needs to take a unified approach to dealing with the international oil cartel and use our nation’s economic power to influence the price of foreign oil and to research means of reducing our dependence upon foreign oil. That is the approach I will take in Congress.
